🍕 Sampdoria vs Juventus: Red-hot Keita Baldé can be a thorn in the side of the champions

The Old Lady of Turin is finding its voice again as the Scudetto title race starts getting serious.

🏟 Sampdoria vs Juventus preview

Andrea Pirlo's team still has plenty of ground to make up on league leaders Milan, seven points to be exact, but they've got a game in hand and some crucial momentum approaching the halfway mark of 2020-21.

Three wins in a week have breathed new life into the defending champions ahead of a trip to Stadio Luigi Ferraris to face in-form Sampdoria. Key experienced trio Cristiano Ronaldo, Leo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini all got the evening off in midweek where Juve disposed of SPAL 4-0 in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals.

Juve will need to be at their best to claim three points away to Sampdoria, though, a team that has strung together rare back-to-back victories under Claudio Ranieri to move into the top half of the table. Three home wins in their last five, including a triumph over then-unbeaten Inter, has been a shot in the arm for the entire squad.

Juve's form on the road has been patchy, with just four wins away from home to go with four draws and a defeat, meaning that Pirlo's men have been only the seventh-best Serie A side on their travels.

Sampdoria's last eight home matches across all competitions have all featured goals at both ends, so we should be in for an entertaining Serie A battle this Saturday.

🌟 Players to watch

🇸🇳 Keita Baldé

Senegalese star striker Keita Baldé has caused quite a stir at Sampdoria already with three goals, three yellow cards and a red in his eight Serie A outings for the club to date. The ex-Inter and Monaco man scored last time out for I Blucerchiati against Parma, taking his overall tally to 14 goals in his last 16 starts in the top-flight of Italian football.

🇺🇸 Weston McKennie

Fittingly, Juve's on-loan American midfielder is a massive Harry Potter fan because he's been producing some magical displays for the Bianconeri in recent weeks. Three goals & two assists in ten Serie A starts is a decent return, but it's the all-action nature of the 22-year-old's displays that have been earning him rave reviews.
