Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has ruled out starting youngsters Amad Diallo and Shola Shoretire in Thursday night's Europa League return leg against Real Sociedad.
The Reds have a comfortable 4-0 lead from the first leg played last week, and there was talk the two youngsters could be among the changes at Old Trafford later this week.
The Norwegian has however ruled that out but admitted there will be a number of changes, especially to the team that won 3-1 against Newcastle on Sunday night.
“Probably not,“ he responded to the question on whether or not the two will start. “Shola and Amad, no I’m not sure if that would be fair on them. They will be in the squad.”
The team has been hit with a few injuries, with Donny van de Beek, Scott McTominay, and Paul Pogba all missing the match against Newcastle, while Edinson Cavani has sat out the last two fixtures.
The striker though might be ready for the clash against the Spanish side, if not, will be ready when United face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
“Donny, Edinson and Scott, I don’t know,” admitted Ole. “Maybe they’ll be available but I’m not sure.”
With the healthy first-leg lead, United will be confident of making the last 16.
