Despite their struggles this season, English giants have been nominated for the Laureus World Team of the Year Award for 2020.
The nomination comes as a result of their perfect outing in 2020 where they won the Premier League after a 30-year wait; the Jurgen Klopp men losing only three games in the entire season with an 18 gap margin over closest challengers Man City.
The Reds will fight for the award against Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich who won the Champions League after landing the domestic prizes in 2019-20; the team being the favorites for the award. Argentina Men’s Rugby Team, American Football outfit Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team are the other nominees in the category.
Winners will be voted for by the 68 members of the Laureus World Sports Academy, and they will be announced in May at a virtual awards event.
