Manchester City set another record with Champions League win over Monchengladbach

Manchester City's impressive run on the road continued on Wednesday night as they beat Borussia Monchengladbach 2-0 in the Champions League first leg.

Pep Guardiola's side took a huge step in making it to the last eight, thanks to goals from Bernando Silva and Gabriel Jesus.

The win was City's 12 on the road, breaking the record for an English top-flight side.

They broke their previous mark which stood at 11 games in a row away from home in 2017.

There are more numbers to their recent wins, with the victory against the Germans their 19th in a row.

Additionally, City are the first team to record a clean sheet in each of their first four away matches of a Champions League campaign since rivals Manchester United did so during the 2010-11 tournament.
