Man City's next six games: When could Pep Guardiola's side drop points?

Who would have thought that Manchester City could be where they are at this stage of the campaign and enjoying a perfect run both at home and in Europe?

The Cityzens had an awful start to the current campaign, with manager Pep Guardiola making the worst start to a season in his distinguished coaching career.

The path, however, appears to have been cleared, and thanks in part to the other teams' failings, the 'men in blue' are on the path to reclaiming their Premier League title.

Guardiola's team saw off West Ham last weekend, their 20th successive win in all competitions, which is a new club record for an English club, and look set to continue with their recent resurgence.

But for how long can they keep their winning run? The next couple of fixtures will once again test their resolve, but as they have shown in the past, they are more than capable of handling the pressure.

First, Pep's side will be in search of their 21st consecutive win when they play Wolves on Tuesday night at the Etihad.

A win could also see them open a 15-point gap over second-placed Man United, and it will move them closer to the finish line.

Tuesday's clash will pave way for the Manchester Derby, set for Sunday, March 7.

Aside from it being a derby, it will be a battle between first and second, with United,, which has lost its spark in recent games, able to spoil the part for Guardiola's side. Can they drop their first points against Ole Gunnar's side?

City have won two of their last five matches against United in all competitions, and clearly, it will be a tough battle.

The remaining three matches have include tricky fixtures against Southampton, Everton, and Leicester, and maybe, just maybe, one of them will be brave enough to halt City's engines, which seem to be gathering pace by each passing match.

Man City's next five fixtures

  • Man City vs Wolves (H)
  • Man City vs Man United (H)
  • Man City vs Fulham (H)
  • Fulham vs Man City (A)
  • Everton vs Man City (A)
  • Leicester vs Man City (A)

Speaking on Monday, the Spaniard outlined the importance of the next four games, saying;

“We don’t want to stop,” he said when asked about our run of victories ahead of the Wolves fixture.

“We know how important this 10 days is with Wolves, United and Southampton before travelling to Fulham. If we are able to do what we want to do, we will make an incredible step, absolutely.

“I want to see the team focusing on the job we have to do. I said many times lately, we have two ways to view what is happening.
