FA give verdict on Ole Gunnar, Luke Shaw comments after Chelsea match

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and defender Luke Shaw will not be punished by the Football Association following their comments after the match against Chelsea.

The duo made comments following the 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening, after a first-half incident in which United felt they were denied a penalty.

The two have however been spared by the FA, concluding that remarks made by the United manager and defender did not breach its rules and regulations.

Speaking to Skysports after the match, Shaw said referee Stuart Attwell failed to award the penalty since 'there would be a lot of talk'.

“The ref even said to H [Maguire], I heard him say: 'If I say it is a pen, then it is going to cause a lot of talk about it after', so I don't know what happened there,” Shaw claimed.

On his part, Solskjaer seemed to share similar sentiments;

“I can’t say because that’s not going to be good for [Attwell],” he said. “I don’t want to cause controversy but that’s not right, is it?”

United settled for a goalless draw against Thomas Tuchel's side, with the point moving them above Leicester to second.
