Primeira Liga side Benfica has reached an agreement with Diego Costa offering a two-year deal worth £5million for the former Chelsea striker.
Costa was released by Atletico Madrid by mutual consent last year in December and the Spaniard has spent the last three months assessing his options.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Costa has opted to stay within European football having headed back to his native Brazil to speak to some clubs.
Benfica has reportedly offered him £2.6m a season to play for them, and Costa has agreed to the move in principle.
