🏆 When can the EPL 2020/21 title be decided?

Manchester City opened an 11-point lead at the top of the Premier League table following their hard-fought 2-1 win away to Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

Pep Guardiola's side had lost their last two domestic matches; against Leeds and Chelsea in the Premier League and FA Cup respectively, and for a moment seemed they could head down the same path after conceding after just 20 seconds.

They however recovered and leveled before taking the lead just before half-time through Phil Foden and Rodri to claim maximum points.

Man United, who beat Burnley 3-1 last time out will be away to Leeds on Sunday and will be hoping they can cut their neighbours' lead to eight points with five matches to go.

Current standings

City currently need eight points from a possible 15 to be crowned champions. This could however change.

If United lose against Leeds and Guardiola's team beat Crystal Palace on Saturday 1 May, Ole Gunnar's side will have to beat Liverpool the following day to keep the race alive.

But if the two sides keep winning, it will mean the title could be won at Newcastle United, currently scheduled for 12 May, with two matches still to play.
