Manchester United remains the ideal club for Borussia Dortmund sensation Jadon Sancho.
There have been reports in Germany that Sancho wants to return to England and despite being linked with Liverpool and Chelsea, German outlet Sport1 claims that United is in a better position to acquire the services of the England international.
The player was poised for a move to Old Trafford last summer but a deal fell through in the last minutes with United refusing to fork out the money that was required by Dortmund in that time. The Bundesliga giants have since gone to reduce the asking price of the player owing to the effects of Covid on clubs around Europe.
The summer saga seems to have derailed Sancho’s start to this season but after reinventing himself, the 21-year-old has gone to record 16 goals and 19 assists from 36 appearances in all competitions this season for his club.
He starred in Dortmund’s 4-1 thrashing of RB Leipzig in the DFB-Pokal Cup final, registering two goals and one assist with the United links having resurfaced again with talks said to have started with the player’s representatives.
United is yet to approach Dortmund, but they are optimistic that a fee between €85-90m could be sufficient to land his signature this summer.
