Reported Manchester United target Kieran Trippier is pushing for a higher salary at Atletico Madrid.
Marca reported that Trippier is keen on moving back to the Premier League after two successful seasons with Atletico Madrid, capped off by winning LaLiga Santander in the season gone but according to other reports, the player is using the links as a decoy to bargain for a better deal at his current club.
The English right-back recently stated that he was happy at Atletico this despite United testing the waters last Friday with a modest 12 million euro bid which was quickly rejected by the Laliga club.
It is said that Los Rojiblancos will only sell Trippier if a club matches his 40m euro release clause with United considering the demand too high for a 30-year-old who wouldn't be the first choice at Old Trafford.
The player has a contract in Madrid until 2023 and it remains to be seen if any club would bid for him in the summer.
