Leicester City defender Timothy Castagne is set to undergo surgery after suffering a nasty clash of heads in Belgium’s opener against Russia on Saturday.
According to RMC, the player is set to go the examination on Tuesday after initial examinations revealed two facial fractures. RTBF however reports that he has suffered six fractures in total.
In the absence of the defender, Thomas Meunier who scored from the bench on Saturday is set to replace Castagne on the right of the five-man backline.
While no timeline has been put for his full recovery, the news is a worry for Leicester who is hoping that they can have all their players fully fit for pre-season ahead of the new season as they gear for their UEFA Europa League campaign.
The team would want to begin the season on a good note too having missed the top four by a whisker with their participation in Europe needing them to have a squad depth of fully fit players.
