Tite: I don't now how far Neymar can reach

For the fourth straight international, Neymar scored to close to within nine goals of Pele's all-time scoring record, and head coach Tite declared his superstar player had no limits.

As reigning champions Brazil thrashed Peru 4-0, Neymar scored once and assisted on the other three goals to give it two wins from two games at the Copa America.

Neymar's goal on Thursday brought his international tally to 68 goals, second only to Pele's 77 for Brazil.

Since his international debut in 2010, Neymar has scored 49 goals, more than any of his international teammates.

"I don't know where Neymar can reach," Tite said in a post-match news conference. "In terms of technical capacity, I really hope he's always healthy and doesn't get injured."

When Neymar spoke to the media after the game, he was overcome with emotion after edging closer to Pele's record.

"I didn't see the interview, but I knew he was moved," Tite said.

Since Tite took over as Brazil coach in 2016, the Selecao has scored two or more goals in 37 of the 56 games they have played, with 66% of those games scoring more than one goal (W36 D1).
