👵 EURO 2020: Oldest players

The EURO 2020 tournament is in its latter stages, with the quarter-final matches set to be played from Friday.

A good number of records have tumbled, ranging from the youngest player to feature at the finals to the highest scorer in the history of the competition.

Which other 'old' records still stand and who have left their marks on Europe's biggest stage?

Goalkeeper Gábor Király holds the record as the oldest player to have featured in a EURO finals match, appearing for Hungary aged 40 years and 86 days against Belgium in 2016.

Netherlands’ Maarten Stekelenburg was the oldest player at the Euro 2020 aged 38 years.

The former Roma, Fulham, and Everton goalkeeper is slightly ahead of Portugal veteran Pepe, who turns 39 in February. Stekelenburg turns 39 in September this year.
