📅 EURO 2024: All you need to know including hosting nation, cities

The EURO 2020 editions came to a conclusion on Sunday night with Italy lifting the coveted trophy. 

Even though it's only three days since the final match at Wembley, plans have already shifted to the 2024 edition. 

So, what do we know about the upcoming edition? 

Who are the hosts?

Three-time winners Germany, who exited this year's edition in the Round-of-16, will host the UEFA European Championship in 2024.

Host venues are as follows.

  • Cologne: Stadium Cologne (46,922)
  • Dortmund: BVB Stadion Dortmund (61,524)
  • Dusseldorf: ARENA Dusseldorf (46,264)
  • Frankfurt: ARENA Frankfurt (48,057)
  • Gelsenkirchen: ARENA AufSchalke (49,471)
  • Hamburg: Volksparkstadion Hamburg (50,215)
  • Leipzig: Stadium Leipzig (46,635)
  • Munich: ARENA Munich (66,026)
  • Stuttgart: ARENA Stuttgart (50,998)

Final match venue

It has yet to be confirmed which venue will hold the final.

Germany, by virtue of being hosts, have qualified for the finals, meaning that the nation will be represented at a 14th consecutive EURO.

The ten venues chosen to host games at the tournament include nine of the stadiums used at the 2006 World Cup.

What are the key dates?

  • June-July 2024: UEFA EURO 2024 final tournament

How will qualifying work?

Germany qualifies as hosts, meaning there will be 23 finals berths to be grabbed via the European Qualifiers which run from March to November 2023.
