AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie has insisted that he is happy at the Serie A club despite interest from Liverpool.
There had been reports that the Ivory Coast international would consider his future at Milan following advances from teams across Europe but that won't be the case as confirmed by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
Romano relayed a report from Gazzetta Dello Sport, which quoted the Ivorian on the matter of his future at the Serie A outfit, with the journalist adding that the player is “in advanced talks” over a contract extension.
Liverpool is currently in the market to look for a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum who left this summer for Paris Saint Germain.
Kessi's contract with Milan expires next summer with Liverpool having expected to have him on a cut-price deal but that won't be the case as the player feels he can achieve greater things with the Italian club.
Franck Kessié: “I want to stay at AC Milan forever. I’m proud of this club and I’m not planning to leave AC Milan, absolutely”, he told Gazzetta dello Sport. He’s in advanced talks to extend his contract. 🔴🤝 #ACMilan— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 25, 2021
