Memphis Depay has assured Barcelona fans his music career won't be a distraction as he begins his journey at Camp Nou.
Depay joined Barca this window on a free transfer from French side Lyon and in an interview with Sport, he said that despite thinking about his career outside the football pitch, playing has always been his main objective.
"Of course I think about these things from time to time, but football is my main objective. Every day I work very hard and train for many hours in order to follow this dream, and that's what I'm totally focused on. Maybe I'll take it more seriously after [my football career], but for the time being it's just a hobby.
"Listening to music is very important, both before the games and in day-to-day life. For example, yesterday I was eating tapas and listening to Spanish music. It's my life. When I'm in the studio, making music is like therapy. I can disconnect from football for a couple of hours and feel re-focused the next day. It's like a marriage for me," he said.
Depay has already featured for his new side in preseason where he marked his debut with a goal in their 3-1 win over Girona over the weekend.
