Chelsea has reportedly started to keep a close eye on Martin Odegaard's uncertain future with Real Madrid.
The Norwegian attacker impressed at Arsenal on loan last season before having to return to Los Blancos for preseason. With Carlo Ancelotti having a look at the 22-year-old and as the club raises funds to buy a few more top players, Odegaard could be up for sale.
While Arsenal has waited eagerly for Madrid's decision to sell Odegaard, fresh reports have now claimed that Chelsea is waiting to pounce.
"Chelsea are reportedly interested in Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard. According to Fichajes, the Blues are keeping their eye on the Norwegian as speculation continues about his future in the Spanish capital," Chelsea's media reported.
"Real Madrid are looking to offload a number of their players to raise funds for top targets this summer. After the departure of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, the 22-year-old playmaker could be the next one to leave the Santiago Bernabeu," the report concluded.
Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel's side is preparing to take on Europa League winners Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup next Wednesday.
