🇧🇷 Man United's Andreas Pereira: I'm ready to play, I'm not a boy anymore

Manchester United's forward Andreas Pereira believes the looming season is his chance to claim a breakthrough.

The 25-year-old Brazilian joined the Red Devils from PSV Eindhoven at U18 level back in 2012, before a string of loan spells at places like Granada, Valencia, and Lazio.

After playing 21 games that included one goal and four assists for Lazio last season, as well as a spectacular goal for United in a preseason friendly, Pereira feels his time has arrived.

"I'm ready to play, I'm not a boy anymore. I'm a man ready to take responsibility," Pereira told TNT Sports.

"I'm sure that with playing time and continuity as a starter in my position, I can show what I've done on base, I can score more goals and give assists. A player of my position needs the confidence to play and the freedom to be bold on the field," he concluded.

Pereira's loan spell at Lazio saw him playing at left-wing, central midfield, attacking midfield, and secondary striker.

It now remains to be seen if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be convinced to feature Pereira against Everton this weekend and later in the league opener against Leeds United on 14 August.
