Aston Villa boss Dean Smith wants Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe back at the club.
Tuanzebe excelled under Smith at Villa Park during a loan spell in the 2018/19 season before returning to United where he has failed to cement a place in the starting team.
The Express & Star says Villa boss Dean Smith is pushing the club to complete the loan deal with the English giants asking for a fee in the region of £5m for the 23-year-old.
The Red Devils want Tuanzebe to sign a new contract before leaving the club on loan. The player's chances at the club have become slimmer following the summer arrival of Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.
Apart from Aston Villa, Newcastle United is the other team said to have enquired about the player with Steve Bruce keen to add another center back to his team.
