South Africa's attacking midfielder Percy Tau is set to leave Brighton & Hove Albion to join Africa's greatest ever club Al Ahly of Egypt.
As we reported here on Futaa this week, the African champions approached Brighton for the Bafana Bafana ace. According to the reports shared via TimesLIVE, Ahly and Brighton have now agreed on terms by Thursday, and what is next is the 27-year-old Tau putting pen to paper on Friday.
A source close to Ahly's camp confirmed to the outlet that the deal will be sealed in the coming hours. “The deal is expected to be wrapped up tomorrow [on Friday]," the source said as quoted by TimesLIVE.
Tau will be leaving the English club after managing just six appearances that included one assist in the 2020/21 season.
The Witbank-born star was signed by the Seagulls in 2018 for R50m after shining under Ahly's current coach Pitso Mosimane at Mamelodi Sundowns.
Meanwhile, Graham Potter's side will take on Spain's Getafe in a preseason friendly this Saturday.
