Kevin Campbell urges Arsenal to sell Leno

Kevin Campbell, a former Arsenal striker, has encouraged the club to sell goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

In recent weeks, the Germany international has lost his starting spot to Aaron Ramsdale, who has maintained clean sheets in back-to-back Premier League victories over Burnley and Norwich City.

With Leno in the final two years of his Arsenal deal, the North London club risks losing him on a free transfer in 2023, and Campbell believes Arsenal should get a good price for him while they still can.

Bernd Leno to leave Arsenal on free transfer?

Speaking to Football Insider, Campbell said: "Take what you can. If Leno is not going to sign a new deal, the one thing you don't do is diminish his price by not playing him at all this season. You have to be a little bit cuter.

"Let's be honest though, Ramsdale has been brought in to be number one. You do not spend that kind of money on a second-choice goalkeeper."

Leno has 34 clean sheets in 120 games for the Gunners in all competitions, but he has allowed nine goals in his first three Premier League games of the 2021-22 season.
