Theo Walcott has resumed first-team training ahead of Southampton's game against Wolverhampton on Sunday.
Walcott is unlikely to feature for Soton despite resuming training due to match fitness. Soton will also miss the services of Stuart Armstrong who is ruled out with a calf injury.
There was no further update on the progress of youngster Will Smallbone, who continues to recover from an ACL suffered in January.
Speaking ahead of the Wolves' visit, coach Hasenhuttl said: "Yeah, we know about Jack Stephens that he is out for longer now it’s a pity."
"He was an important player for me and we lose him, but we will have these situations over the season and we will find as quickly as possible the right alternative."
"Theo Walcott was back in training today for the first time in a long time, and the rest yeah so far fit, Stuey (Armstrong) still unavailable and that’s it."
"Stuey has not been training with the group, and yes Theo was this week starting with the team sessions so it will take time until he’s on the level but it’s good to have him back, and important to give him training sessions with the team."
Jack Stephens is also out with a knee tendon injury he picked up against Manchester City.
