Defender Alexander-Arnold a doubt for Man City

Liverpool has received a blow with the news that defender Trent Alexander Arnold might miss their weekend tie against Manchester City.

The right-back didn't feature as his side ran 5-1 winners over FC Porto on Tuesday night and according to Klopp while speaking after the game, the player suffered an adductor injury against Brentford last weekend.

"Yeah, unfortunately (it's an injury). It was shortly after training (on Monday), Trent went in a little bit earlier but it didn't look serious. We did further assessment and in the end, it was serious. So, he is out for today for sure, he didn't travel with us.

"And it doesn't look great for the City game as well. It's a muscle thing. We thought he was just a bit tired from the (Brentford) game but it was more and now we have to deal with that," Klopp said to BT Sports.

Liverpool, the only Premier League club who remains unbeaten so far this season, welcome champions Manchester City to Anfield on Sunday with the Pep Guardiola side just a point below them on the log.
