Chelsea defender Rudiger 'honoured' by Bayern interest

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has been left 'honored' by links with a move to Bayern Munich, he has admitted.

According to reports, Rudiger wants to leave Chelsea next summer with his contract with the Blues set to expire in June 2022. The German international admits he is flattered by reports linking him with a move to Munich but insists he is focused on the task at hand with the Blues.

“Of course [Bayern] honours me and proves that I’ve been doing things right,” he said while on international duty with Germany.

“But I don’t let myself be distracted. I have an obligation to my club to perform well. I have to prove myself every game and not let myself be distracted by rumors. I make my decisions for myself. They don’t depend on anyone. I feel good where I am.”

The 28-year-old has played more than 150 times for Chelsea since joining from Roma in 2017, adding two FA Cups, the Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup to his Champions League success.
