Philippe Coutinho has responded to his doubters following his goal in Barcelona's win over Valencia on Sunday.
The Brazilian has struggled with injuries since moving to Camp Nou and has always been considered a surplus to requirement as seen when he was loaned to Bayern Munich previously but he is determined to fight for his place and help the Ronald Koeman side.
The goal on Sunday was his first La Liga goal since November 2020 with the player not holding back in his post-match interview as relayed by Mundo Deportivo.
“We all know I have suffered but I feel good. After so long, to score a goal is a very good feeling and the team has won. I have more desire than ever after going through everything I have done.
“It has been difficult and hard, but now it’s just a scar that makes me stronger, I want to succeed and be the best Philippe Coutinho I can be,” he said.
The player is expected to be a part-time player in Koeman's squad but with a chunk of games coming up starting with the Champions League against Dynamo Kyiv in midweek before an El Clasico showdown with Real Madrid next weekend, the former Liverpool man is set to get his chances.
