Ferguson visits Man United training ground to 'protect Solskjaer'

Legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was present at the club's Carrington training ground as pressure continue to pile on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

There have been reports that United are contemplating sacking the Norwegian but Fergison is against such a move as he feels Solskjaer should be given more time to prove himself.

Manchester Evening News has reported that Ferguson visited United’s Carrington training ground complex amid speculation on the Norwegian’s future at the helm of United.

The reports indicate that members of the board are unsure whether Solskjaer should still be given time to turn the situation around. Some executives are said to be unsure on the appointment of Antonio Conte (who is the favorite to replace him) something that is buying Solskjaer some time.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano later added via his twitch that Ferguson was at Carrington protecting the 48-year-old.

52-year-old Conte is currently a free agent after leaving Inter last year after winning their first Serie A league title since 2010 but has won league titles in each of his last three club jobs, winning the Premier League with Chelsea in 2017.
