🏆 AFCON 2021 Countdown: All Group Fixtures

It's just two days to the biggest footballing bonanza, the Africa Cup of Nations. 

The 33rd edition is set to kick off on Sunday, January 9, 2022, in Cameroon, and will run for a month.

 

Here are all the Group Fixtures; 

Group A

The hosts, Cameroon, headline Group A, alongside Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, and Cape Verde. 

The hosts will open the competition with the Burkinabe on Sunday, with Ethiopia playing Cape Verde the following day.

Group B

One of the tournament's favourites in Senegal, headline Group B. With the likes of Sadio Mane and Edouard Mendy in their ranks, the Lions of Teranga, who lost in the 2019 finals are among the favourites to wrestle the title from Algeria. 

They are paired alongside Guinea, Malawi, and Zimbabwe.

Group C

Four-time winners Ghana will arguably battle for the top two slots with Morocco, one of the north African nations in the tournament. 

Morocco may be missing the services of Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech, but they still remain a force to reckon with. 

Ghana, on the other hand, are always among favourites and it will e exciting to see how this plays out.

Group D

Arguably the group of death. Egypt and Nigeria will be favourites to advance from teh group, but there could be dark horses in either Sudan or Guinea-Bissau. 

Mohamed Salah will lead the Egyptians, with Nigeria, boasting a number of stars will be facnying their chances. 

The Super Eagles will however miss the services of Emmanuel Dennis, Victor Osimhen and Odion Ighalo, who were all denied the chance to link up with their team.

Group E

The defending champions will always be the team to beat, and in this case, the Riyad Mahrez-led Algerians. 

They are however paired alongside another heavyweight in Ivory Coast, led by Ajax forward Sebastien Haller.

Group F

Group F has two traditional heavyweights in Tunisia and Mali, who are joined by Gambia and Mauritania.
