Southampton 1-1 Man City: Guardiola's league leaders held at St. Mary's

Manchester City rallied from a goal behind to earn a shock 1-1 draw with Southampton on Saturday at St. Mary's.

Kyle Walker-Peters wasted little time in scoring the first goal after only seven minutes, before Aymeric Laporte's 65th-minute goal ensured Pep Guardiola's team earned a point.

Walker-Peters' early assault was executed well. As he reached the area, he grabbed the ball and struck the ball across Ederson and into the top left corner.

This was the right-first back's Premier League goal.

City's goal came via a Gabriel Jesus free-kick. Kevin De Bruyne takes the free-kick and throws it into the penalty area, where Laporte heads it in.

The Cityzens advantage atop the Premier League standings has increased to 12 points, with Liverpool facing Crystal Palace on Sunday.
