Straight after helping Egypt to the 2021 African Cup of Nations finals, winger Trézéguet has left Aston Villa for Turkish side İstanbul Başakşehir on loan until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old had been suffering from an injury picked in April 2021 prior to the African continental showpiece and featuring seven times for the Pharaohs and scoring once.
In a statement, Villa said: "Aston Villa can confirm Trézéguet has joined İstanbul Başakşehir on loan until the end of the season.
"The wide man, who reached the Africa Cup of Nations final with Egypt, arrived at Villa in the summer of 2019 and has made 64 appearances. He scored crucial goals for the club in his maiden campaign in 2019/20 as Villa reached the Carabao Cup final and maintained their Premier League status.
"Trézéguet suffered a lengthy injury lay-off in 2021 but returned to action last month and will now look to get valuable game time over the second half of this season."
He joins a Başakşehir side who are currently in fifth place in Turkey’s Süper Lig.
