Lautaro Martinez smashed a hattrick on Friday night as Inter Milan thrashed Salernitana 5-0 to go top of the Serie A table.
Martinez ended his goal drought as he opened the scoring for Milan in the 22nd minute before grabbing a brace just before halftime. In the 56th minute, the Argentine completed his hattrick in style as Milan continued to dominate against a struggling visiting side at San Siro.
Inzaghi on Martinez
"He always gives me confidence. He fights with us near the pitch," he said.
Dzeko had created numerous opportunities and the striker was duly rewarded when he scored twice in five minutes, first finishing at the near post from Robin Gosens' cut back before putting away Denzel Dumfries's cross on a counter-attack.
Milan are now at the top of the table with 58 points, one above third and second-placed Napoli and AC Milan respectively while Juventus are fourth with 50.
Salernitana are rooted at the bottom of the table with 15 points accumulated from 26 matches.
The I Nerazzurri will now shift their focus to the Champions League last-16, the second leg when they will attempt to overturn a 2-0 deficit against Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday.
