Mourinho wishes Ten Hag the best at Man United

AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has wished new Man United manager Erik ten Hag the best of luck in his new adventure.

Ten Hag will be leading the English giants from next season after a disastrous outing with Mourinho stating that he knew that his sacking by the club was never going to sort their issues as they needed a serious overhaul.

Mourinho infamously claimed a runners-up finish in 2017/18 was among his greatest managerial achievements, hinting at the difficulties behind the scenes.

“Of course my English connection is Chelsea, that’s the way I’m seen, as a Chelsea man. Two periods at Chelsea, six years. But Man United, the fans are special. There is lots of good people inside the club, it’s not like I’m happy to be right," he told BT Sport.

“I’m not happy to be right, I’ll like to be wrong. But I knew that I was right. The first thing you have to change when things are not going right is the mentality and the organization. And it was not coming.

“I knew that for me to leave was not going to resolve the situation. I knew that, unfortunately. I wish them the best, honestly, I wish them the best and hope they make it.”

The Portugues spent two-and-a-half seasons with the Red Devils from 2016 to 2018, winning a League Cup and Europa League double during his debut season with the trophies remaining the club’s last major honor.
