Percy Tau is elated with his maiden goal for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on Saturday that saw them clinch a 3-0 win over City Pirates Antwerpen in the Belgian Cup.

Tau moved from Mamelodi Sundowns to Royale in the Belgian Second Division tier is further made happy with the progress of the team in the domestic competition.

"I'm obviously happy with this first goal! The team is progressing well, the fans were at the stadium and this result is the fruit of our work. Scoring with a flick? I tried my luck and it paid off. I am especially happy that we won and we progress in the cup. Our coach Luka Elsner was obviously satisfied with the result, but less so with the performance. It went well, with the early goal, but we relaxed later on.” Tau told the club’s website after the match.

The Bafana Bafana forward was not pleased with the team’s performance and has called on his teammates to show a united front on the pitch.

"We played in patches. Throughout the park, in all departments, the chances were complicated. It was a victory, but it was not the desired showing on the pitch.” the 24-year old forward added.
