Kaizer Motaung, the Kaizer Chiefs chairman has defended the club’s acquisition of Andriamirado Andrianarimanana from Fosa Junior of Madagascar.
Motaung claims that Kaizer signed ‘Dax" as he is known after his contract ended with Fosa Junior. The dust is yet to settle after Chiefs were accused by Kenya’s Gor Mahia of illegal approach to Godfrey Walusimbi.
“First and foremost, he has got no contract. He is an amateur, so to speak, but he doesn’t have a contract with the Madagascan team. We made an offer to them because they are entitled to compensation, but obviously somebody saw an opportunity to try to bring some lotto figures to catch him.” Moyaung is quoted by KickOff.com.
“Unfortunately we couldn’t come to a final agreement, hence we had to go to FIFA for intervention. But, otherwise, he’s confident he doesn’t have a contract. The contract that he had, expired almost eight or 10 months ago but it’s also an amateur contract, so they cannot withhold his move to elsewhere in the world if he wants to move.” he added.
As the ABSA outfit awaits FIFA ruling on the same, it has allowed the Madagascan train with the team.
“He’s training with us, he’s fit now and ready to play. The only thing we’re awaiting is the decision from FIFA. He can play [immediately], he’s free – he’s not contracted to anyone. He’s a free agent.” the chairman concluded.
