Mike Mutebi believes that his KCCA FC team is performing at just 50 percent of their potential.
The coach, whose team is leading the log standings with 33 points, seven above defending champions Vipers SC, wants the team to improve.
“The team is performing at 50% right now. That is average but it is good enough by Ugandan standards but we have to do more,” the coach told media.
Mutebi has urged his team to put more efforts and raise the standards in order to do well at the continental level
“But the team is showing that the 50% is really high in the local scene. We have to improve that so that it helps us when we go to face the challenges that come with continental football.”
The coach surprised media when he twice scorned his team for fluffing chances despite scoring Amuka Bright Stars and Police eight and six goals respectively.
He says the current level has aroused fans but wants his galaxy of stars to shine brighter.
“Last season we were at 45%. The 50% has already excited the fans this season. Players like Jackson Nunda, Allan Okello, Mutyaba Muzamir and others are on the same level but when they step up and reach 60%, then that will help us a lot
“I want to see them scoring more goals. Whenever they have a chance, score as many goals and score like one who is really on fire.”
