Qatar Consider Wenger for Coaching Role Ahead of 2022 World Cup

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly been approached by Qatar about taking over as head coach.

Wenger, 69, has been out of management since leaving Arsenal in the summer after 22 years at the club.

The Middle East nation will host the World Cup in 2022 and according to France Football, the Qatar FA are in search of a big name to handle their national team.

The French publication further reports that Qatar had already tried to convince former Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim to take up the role which he declined preferring to head to China instead.

It’s still unknown what Wenger thinks of the offer, but if he were to take up the role, it would come as no surprise considering his eagerness to return to management.
