The newly appointed head coach of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Uche Okagbue has sung his side's praises after they came away with a well-fought victory against Plateau United on Sunday, January 13 in Jos.

Okagbue said that his players fought like they were ready to win and that it has boosted his confidence as their new coach going forward.

"They fought like a team ready to pick a point, and they did that in a grand style," he said.

“I am happy for them, and am happy for the team, it’s a good one for us, it’s a good beginning for me as far as the NPFL is a concern”.

Uche pressed on the fact that he is not new in coaching as he has previously coached Remo Stars and he believes he has what it takes to push his new club to the top.

“I’m not new in coaching, am sure some people do not know I’ve coached Remo Stars, I was the one who promoted them to the elite league.

"I’ve coached teams in Kano, and I’ve coached Remo Stars so I am not new in coaching, I assured coach Ladan Bosso last season and the opportunity beckoned on my door to be the head coach and now people can know Uche Okagbue better”.

“I am a former international player. I played for Nigeria, I captained Nigeria during my playing days so I have quite a good knowledge of the game," Uche concluded.
