Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has dismissed any injury concerns on Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne revealing that a huge depth in the squad was the reason for the duo starting from the bench.
Both Aguero and De Bruyne have had injury concerns this season as they missed the marathon December fixtures, where they lost some ground on table-toppers Liverpool. The Argentine missed the two most recent games with an illness, only returning to injury on Thursday, while De Bruyne was last seen heading straight down the tunnel after being substituted during the win over Burton.
Speaking at a post-match press conference after the 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, Guardiola was asked if Aguero and De Bruyne started on the bench because of injury concerns, "I have an incredible squad. [Ilkay] Gundo[gan] made six or seven assists in the last two games but didn't play. Both him and Kevin deserve to play but Bernardo also deserves to play and [Fernan]Dinho for what they have done against Liverpool.
"Today one of my favorite players, Phil [Foden], was not in the 18 but there are a lot of games and maybe new players are going to come in."
