We’re edging closer and closer to Saturday’s EPL fixture of the weekend between Arsenal and Chelsea in London, this being a Thursday, Futaa does a special flashback to one of the most classic battles between The Gunners & The Blues.
Every Arsenal fan loves to remember one 90s game when dealing with a Chelsea fan. The same game happens to be an event that saw an African son become an Arsenal legend: Nigeria’s very own Nwankwo Kanu.
The Blues looked to have had the game in the bag by going 2-0 up at 70 minutes via Tore Andre Flo and Dan Petrescu… until Kanu had something to say.
Kanu needed the final 15 minutes to produce what would 17 years later get voted as the Premier League greatest hat-trick.
“That game, I was flying,” Kanu said after the recognition.
“Everything I did worked. None of my teammates believed I could score from that angle. Even Arsene Wenger said, ‘How did you do that?’
“It was a goal people will live to remember, even me," concluded the Nigerian legend.
