Holders KCCA dumped out of Uganda Cup two days after CAF CC exit

Just before the tears of their painful CAF Confederations Cup exit dry up, KCCA FC has been dumped out of the Uganda Cup by Tooro United at the Buhinga stadium in Fort portal.

Before the game, KCCA had beaten Tooro United in eight of their 12 meetings.

Patrick Kaddu appeared to have given the holders a much-needed goal in the 51st minute but Allan Kayiwa answered back with 13 minutes to go to send the game into shootouts.

Second-half substitute, Willy Kavuma, was  more than motivated as well as nervous to take the first for the hosts just after KCCA Captain Timothy Awany had lost his but held on and poked in.

Muzair Mutyaba converted his to pump up the City lads but  a resilient Joel Mutakubwa stood firm to put off Hassan Musana and Allan Okello’s attempts.

Mike Kawooya and Issa Mubiru converted their spot kicks to end the shootouts after just the third rounds.

The loss coupled with the exit from the Confederations Cup, means that KCCA now have to concentrate on the league if they are to get back to the continent next season.
