Morley Byekwaso will be in charge of KCCA FC when they take on Mbarara City on Wednesday at Kakyeka stadium.
The coach will be standing in for his boss Mike Mutebi who is serving a four-match ban after uttering statements that were deemed to have brought the game into disrepute.
His ban starts with a tight fixture against Mbarara City on Tuesday away in Mbarara.
Byekwaso believes that he is ready to take charge of the team like he has done on several occasions when the head coach was absent.
“I am more than prepared to take charge in his absence because this is not the first time am doing it. However, I will not work alone but with the technical bench that he has put in place,” Byekwaso said.
Mbarara City, under highly-rated coach Livingstone Mbabazi, has been the surprise team of the season currently standing third behind KCCA and Vipers.
Byekwaso notes the kind of challenge expected on Wednesday but is confident that they will pick a result and extend their lead.
“We have put a lot of focus on this game because we need to extend the lead. We have been dumped out of two of the three competitions we were participating in and now need to put all our focus on the league title.”
