Struggling Paidha Black Angels announce nine signings

Uganda Premier League club Paidha Black Angels have announced nine players to in the last few hours of the January transfer window.

Vipers striker Dickens Okwir is among the new recruits for the club as they continue with the process of recovering from possible relegation prior to the second round kick off.

The other players who were unveiled are Stephen Mwaka Stephen (defender), Jerome Okotcha (forward), James Mwambedde (forward), Stephen Matega (midfielder), Mathias Okwalinga (forward), Hassan Fatib (forward), Pascal Irasa (defender), and goalkeeper Pius Dibala.

All the new signings were officially unveiled on Wednesday, January 30 at Barokoro stadium in Zombo home to the Paidha Black Angels.

Okwir’s move to Paidha Black Angels has been blessed by Vipers for a loan spell of six months before he returns to St Mary’s.

"We have completed the 6 months loan move of striker Dickens Okwir from Vipers Sports Club," the club's official statement read. 

"The suggestion is that PBA are keen to offer him much more playing time and make him an integral part of our plans for the remainder of the season."

"I am happy to be at Paidha Black Angels Football Club. I will use this loan spell as a spring board to getting back my career to life. I am targeting as many goals as possible," Okwir said.

Okwir joined Vipers SC from Onduparaka FC in the middle of 2018 on a three-year deal and had been top scorer of the 2017/18 FUFA Big League with 12 goals.
