Why former Onduparaka striker joined Paidha on loan from Vipers

League defending champions, Vipers SC, and relegation-threatened Paidha Black Angels have agreed a loan move for striker Dickens Okwir.

The striker joined the Venoms from Lira’s Amuka Bright Stars at the beginning of the season but has struggled to get enough game time with a host of other forwards ranking higher.

The Kitende-side agreed to loan him out to a club of his choice with the player opting to go to Paidha to save their sinking boat.

Vipers agreed with the Zombo district side that the former Onduparaka forward will be given enough playing time as part of the deal.

“We have completed the 6 months loan move striker Dickens Okwir from Vipers SC,” Paidha announced before adding that, “the suggestion [agreement] is that PBA is to offer him much more playing time and make him an integral part of our plans for the remainder of the season.”

He replaces the former captain Cromwell Abang who crossed over to URA FC in a 14 million shillings deal.

Other signings

The club has also boosted their team with eight more recruits. They include; defender Stephen Mwaka , Jerome Okotcha, James Mwambedde, Pascal Irasa, Pius Dibala, Stephen Matega, Mattias Okwalinga and Hassan Fatib.

They face fellow debutants and strugglers Ndejje University on Friday in Arua.
