SC Villa and Bright Stars played to a 1-1 draw in the lone Uganda Premier League match on Wednesday, February 6 at Namboole stadium.
Bashir Mutanda and Alfred Onek found the back of the net for the teams in the first half respectively.
However, despite both teams coming into the game determined to come away with maximum points, it was just not the day for either having started cautiously.
Nelson Senkatuka missed a good chance to put the visitors in front when he failed to beat Saidi Keni in SC Villa goal.
The deadlock was broken in the 42nd when he beat an offside trap to slot home after a goal melee and Onek levelled matters three minutes later as the game went into the break tied.
Douglas Bamweyana made a double change with Pius Wangi and Joseph Semujju for Ronald Magwali and Ibrahim Mugurusi as the 16-time champions searched for goals.
At the moment, Bright Stars sat behind the ball as they opted to counter-attack with SC Villa dominating proceedings.
Mutanda had a goal denied midway the second half after connecting Ssemujju cross but the assistant raised the flag for offside.
Senkatuka was a culprit for missing three good opportunities with the goalie to beat and the final whistle saw both teams pick a point each.
SC Villa move a place on the table with 15 points in 12th position, level on points with Maroons who drop a place while Bright Stars are now 9th with 21 points.
Fred Kajoba’s side have now gone eight games without victory since beating Paidha Black Angels 3-0 on December 1.
