11 Feb 2019, 15:45
Following Manchester City’s 6-0 demolition of Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea on Sunday, Futaa has gone back to dig up the Italian manager’s biggest ever defeats, and it turns out Sunday’s thrashing was a record-breaker.
Sarri, who is managing his first ever football club outside of Italy, has seen his five-year record of heavy defeats getting equaled and surpassed in under two weeks.
Prior the 4-0 loss to Bournemouth on 30 January, the 60-year-old’s last taste of a 4-0 beating was back in 2015 to Napoli while he still managed Empoli.
List of Sarri’s biggest ever defeats:
- Manchester City 6:0 FC Chelsea
- FC Empoli 0:4 Cagliari Calcio
- AFC Bournemouth 4:0 FC Chelsea
- Lazio 4:0 FC Empoli
- Vittoria Calcio 4:1 AC Sangiovannese.
