Police fail test at Jinja SS as Kikomeko earns first win

Kirinya Jinja SSS FC bounced back to winning ways with a slender 1-0 win over Police in A Uganda Premier League match played at the Mighty Arena in Jinja.

The school boys were the better side throughout as they looked for their first win since interim coach Abbey Kikomeko took over.

Joel Madondo made a solo run, weaving through seven players on his way to his 11th goal of the season just four minutes into the break.

The striker had several close attempts kept off by Polis keeper Davis Mutebi who, in most occasions, had resorted to time wasting.

Isaac Isinde, who was captain of the day, nearly doubled the lead at the death of first half with a thumping header off a Dan Sewava delivery but he was flashed off.

The school boys pressured their visitors in the second half and Madondo could have bagged a brace but failed two  close attempts in the dying minutes.

The win lifts Kirinya into the top ten with 24 points, three below the cops who are 7th.
