Vipers Sports Club missed a chance to cut the gap with table leaders KCCA FC to one point after failing to beat Tooro United in Fort Portal.

The two sides shared spoils in a 1-1 draw on Tuesday in their match day 119 fixtures at the Buhinga stadium.

On form new signing, Innocent Wafula, almost put the Venoms ahead in the 4th minute but his header off a Tom Masiko cross rattled the woodwork.

Halid Lwaliwa and Livingstone Mulondo did well to keep off Tooro United striker Allan Kayiwa’s subsequent attacks thereafter but could not hold for long.

Godfrey Lwesibawa put the hosts in the driving seat after stubbing in off a free kick in the 16th minute.

Vipers new signing, Hamis Diego Kiiza, pulled the defending champions level in the 37th.

Ibrahim Tembo delivered a long thro in to Mulondo who propeeled it further with a slight header for Kiiza to head in.

The draw leaves Vipers second with 38 points, three behind KCCA who host BUL on Wednesday at Lugogo.

Tooro is sixth with 28 points.
