Uganda Premier League outfit, Nyamityobora Football Club has reportedly appointed academy coach Juma Ssekiziyivu as their interim trainer.
Ssekiziyivu has been one of the coaches but directly responsible for the academy side (U19 team).
He is expected to see the club through their training sessions starting Friday, February 15.
The news comes barely 24 hours after their head coach Asaph Mwebaze Jr. and his assistant Joseph Kiwanuka bid farewell to the players and some officials in the aftermath of their 2-0 home defeat against Express at the Kakyeka on Wednesday, February 13.
The move to appoint Ssekiziyivu was executed by Ben Immanuel Misagga, the club President who has since pitched camp in Mbarara since the Tuesday.
Misagga met with Ssekiziyivu on Thursday, February 14 with the news confirming him as a temporary trainer while the club is on the hunt for a permanent solution is sought.
"I am ready to temporarily carry on the job because this is our club. We have to serve in good and trying times."
Ssekiziyivu, a CAF ‘C’ licenced coach will conduct his first training session on Friday morning (February 15).
For starters, Ssekiziyivu is a long-serving coach at Nyamitybora having served under a number of coaches; Alex Isabirye, James Odoch and lately Mwebaze.
He is expected to be assisted by one senior player Ibrahim Mpengere and the goalkeeping coach, Hasshim Muhwezi.
Days before falling to Express in Mbarara, Nyamityobora had also lost to sworn rivals Mbarara City 3-0 during the much-awaited derby game.
Nyamityobora is currently 15th on the log, second bottom with just 12 points from 19 matches. They have won and drawn three games apiece with 13 losses.
They face Paidha Black Angels next week during their immediate league match in line.
