Tooro united blame fatigue, poor pitch for Uganda cup exit

Tooro United head coach Waswa Bbosa has blamed the organisers of the Uganda Cup competition after his team was dumped out by Wakiso Giants from the round of 16.

The Fort Portal-based side were careless with their penalties scoring only two of the first four as the Big League side ensured perfection to advance.

Bbosa believes his boys were unable to catch up with their opponents because they were tired after a draining 1-1 league game against defending champions, Vipers SC on Tuesday.

“My team was very tired,” he started his complain. “We played in Fort Portal on Tuesday and had to travel to Jinja for the game. These are humans and not machines! You could actually see their pace was down and there is nothing I could do because it’s natural.”

Pitch

The frustrated coach also had unkind words for the playing surface at the Bugembe stadium where the Giants host their games.

“Secondly, the pitch is on a very bad state. Actually, it looks like a potato field. It’s unplayable and the ball can’t move well.”
