Uganda Cup: Express dump Police in revenge mission

19 Feb 2019, 08:25

About a fortnight ago, Police FC drove to Wankulukuku and picked three points in a league match against Express.

The 2-0 defeat signalled the end of Kefa Kisala’s tenure at the club as they turned to their legendary captain George Ssemogerere.

The Red Eagles revenged that loss on Monday as they ended the Cops run in the Uganda Cup to progress to the quarters.

Muwanga stars

The under-23 goalkeeper, Mathias Muwanga, was at his best as he saved two penalties by Juma Balinya and Edgar Bwogi as the hosts won 4-1 in the shootouts.

The kicks followed a barren draw after the normal 90 minutes.

Michael Birungi, Disan Galiwango, Kigonya and Odur converted their kicks to give Express the sweet win and a revenge.
