Borussia Dortmund's recent wobble in the Bundesliga title race has given Bayern Munich huge encouragement. Dortmund's latest slip-up was a 0-0 draw at bottom club, Nurnberg, after which they travel to Augsburg before a 2nd leg round of 16 Champions League clash with Tottenham. They may well prioritise the Bundesliga title chase now after losing the 1st leg 3-0 to Tottenham. Here, they face an unpredictable Leverkusen side with Champions League aspirations of their own, but they will have to shrug off the disappointment of Europa League elimination at the hands of Russian team Krasnodar.
Star man Marco Reus is still out, and there are doubts over the fitness of Chelsea-bound Christian Pulisic. Experienced defender Lukasz Piszczek is still out so Moroccan star Achrakf Hakimi will continue to deputise at right back. Finnish striker Joel Pohjanpalo is out for Leverkusen, as well as Panagiotis Retsos, Karim Bellarabi and midfield lynchpin Lars Bender is a doubt.
